The cold, damp winter days are long gone and we are welcoming warm spring with open arms. The days have become longer, the sun is out and shining bright, and we have a new kick in our steps as we prepare to take on tomorrow with energy and vigor.

Spring is the perfect time to get back to a fitness regime, get involved in healthy competition, and play some sports with friends and those close to you. Here are some of the most popular sports for you to try out with your friends outdoors while making full use of the sunshine and warmth.

Sports are a great way to release pent-up energy, get our bodies moving, and stay fit and in shape, while also having fun and releasing endorphins. The relatively new sport of pickleball combines features of both racquetball and tennis and follows the rules and strategies applied to the games of badminton, tennis, and also ping pong.

The ball used for this game is relatively bigger, so it can be safely said that pickleball is a newbie-friendly game. When it comes to feasibility, all of the gaming equipment required for a game of pickleball isn’t very costly either. The space required for the sport, the Pickleball court, is smaller in size when compared to a tennis court, so space is also not a huge issue for playing the game.

Badminton

Badminton is a favorite among many casual sports players. It is a staple of backyard parties, barbeque get-togethers on hot summer nights, or a fun time at the park in the cool summer breeze.

Sure, badminton is a casual game for many but one must not forget that it is also a highly competitive sport played in the Olympics. It is quite a simple game to get started with, with inexpensive equipment, and very little space required to play a game of badminton.

This sport involves great physical activity and may surprise you with the agility it demands–playing the sport competitively requires lots of effort and practice.

Disc Golf

Golf is another great spring sport. The fun and light game is a bit on the steep side, requiring pricey equipment, club memberships, and green fees, in order to enjoy it to its fullest. Thankfully, however, there is a much more feasible alternative: disc golf.

A game of disk golf requires you to play with discs or old frisbees. The play environment is similar to golf, as it is also an outdoor sport. Disk golf grounds need to be wide and spacious, and playing one game is equivalent to an intense cardio workout session.
