Chances are, you’ve experienced scrambling for your house keys in your bag, or you had a hard time remembering where you last left the remote. There’s no judging because there are many moments in our lives when we’ve misplaced our belongings, primarily because we don’t organize our stuff properly.
But, we don’t have to Marie Kondo our entire house. There are small ways that even professional organizers, who celebrities utilize, recommend.
Operation: Find The Missing Socks
One of the most irritating parts of washing clothes is losing the other sock of a pair. Somehow, the machine seems to be “eating” them, but in reality, they may have been hiding at the gasket. According to Life in Jeneral founder Jen Robin, whose clients include “Frozen” star Kristen Bell, this refers to the rubber or felt lining near the door.

Small items like socks and handkerchiefs are usually stuck in this lip, making it seem that they’ve vanished. So to avoid this from happening, use mesh bags when washing small pieces.
Ditch The Chunky Wallet
The chunkier, the better? This is not applicable in wallets. The “Folding Book” author Janelle Cohen, whose clients include Jordyn Woods and Dixie D’Amelio, advises taking advantage of your phone’s digital wallet by storing rewards and gift cards.

Then, remove the physical cards from your wallet and only leave those frequently used, like credit and debit cards and IDs.
Throw Away Old Spices
Just because they are safely stored in the pantry doesn’t mean that spices last until the end of time. This is why it pays to check the expiration dates and note them at the bottom of the bottle before storing them. Remember, spices gradually lose their taste over time.

Simply Luze founder Ryen Toft, an organizer for Hannah Godwin, also suggests learning a thing or two about spices. Ground ones tend to last from two to four years, while dried, whole spices are good for three to four years.
Stop Missing Due Dates
Due date fines are relatively small amounts, but in the long run, the total adds up. Of course, most of us have experienced forgetting to pay the bills on time because of busy schedules or simply because we’re not organized.
At this age, technology has given us tons of options to help address this. Model Home’s Eryn Donaldson, who worked with Ashley Greene in the past, advises enrolling in autopay plans to avoid late fees. Paperless billing will not only stop mails but also help save the environment!
